About us

Todd Day Wait writes, records and performs in mediums such as blues, folk, country, gospel, rock, soul, jam, reggae, psychedelic and funk. He draws from the stories of folk, the raw feelings of the blues, simplicity in country, the spirit of gospel, the leg kicks of rock, the rhythm of reggae, improvisational through jam, the distinctive look of pyschedelic and the body movin’ music of Memphis soul and New Orleans funk. He has been establishing his presence professionally for 6 years, accumulating over 500 live show experiences and releasing two albums. Starting to work nationally in 2009, he formed Pigpen. Playing his original songs, songs of the past and jams of the future, Todd Day Wait’s Pigpen is comprised of a rotating line-up of professional musicians from around the country.

2010:

Todd Day Wait spent the winter down in New Orleans, LA writing, performing and recording. Meeting new musicians and playing with old friends he performed on the street daily, wrote two new hits, sat in with a few groups and performed his own show at an official club.

With long time friend, Alpaca, Todd bought a new touring bus, a 1997 airport shuttle bus that has been converted to run on vegetable oil. Building storage for gear, beds and a kitchen the Pigpen and Alpaca team is going to be hitting the road hard this year in a awesome touring rig.

The Spring Midwest 2010 tour went great playing around 30 dates in the Midwest. New friends and fans where made as well as building stronger ties with clubs and communities.

Heading out west in June the Pigpen and Alpaca combo have their sights for the mountains and the whole west coast.

2009:

Forming Pigpen in 2009, Todd Day Wait took his group from the Midwest out through the Mountains and to the west coast of California. Working out there with new friends he played on the street up and down the coast. He also played his own official gigs and sat in with a few different groups.

Pigpen recorded in San Diego a single called “Magnolia Trees” and in Flaggstaff, AZ “No where to be.” Other recording sessions happened in Flaggstaff and in Arcata, CA and will be released in 2010. “All night long” was recorded live at the Crosstown Station in Kansas City, MO. A Pigpen E.P. is being worked on now and will be ready to be released in early 2010.

Pigpen did a tour in Missouri for the fall and played 12 dates through out the state. A different line up was used for most of those shows keeping the songs fresh and the jams new for the players and fans.

After finishing the tour Pigpen took a break for the holidays to spend times with friends and family, which cannot be over looked. Working on recording a few new bluegrass tunes with friends and recording a few tracks for the E.P. before heading own to New Orleans for the winter. Pigpen will be playing on the street with old friends and a few gigs at some Louisiana clubs. Recording with old friends will be a must and new tracks are sure to develop.

Thank you for your time

Todd Day Wait
